Height/Weight
24.25 inches (Birth- 20 inches) = 80th percentile
16.5 inches (head circumference; Birth- 14 inches) = 75th
percentile
11 pounds (Birth- 7 pounds 12 oz) = 25th

Size:
Since she’s a bit taller, the 3-month clothes are being put
away slowly and she is going into 3-6 months exclusively!
Love those lips!
Favorites:
Food- BREASTMILK! No dairy or gluten!
Song- The POTATO
song by Disney Junior! Potato Rock is actually her favorite! Watch this at your
own risk! It’ll be stuck in your head FOREVER.
Toy- My boobs.
Non-toy toy- My
boobs.
Time of day- she
is happiest when her daddy gets home at 7p! She’s alert and ready to hang out
with him.
TV show- Oh
my..she’s obsessed. We have to shield her mat with pillows since we hang out in
our living room.
Thing to giggle at-
Ryan recently discovered that she loves when he blows air through his lips...I
can’t really put it in words so here is the video:
Firsts/Milestones:
- She started noticing her hands a little over 8 weeks and
every day since then, she becomes more and more comfortable with them...now
she’s starting to suck on her hands! Eh!
-She can even hold her rattle and shake it a little!
-She can even hold her rattle and shake it a little!
She's pretty indifferent about tummy time actually. Now that she grabs and reaches for things, she really rather be playing with her toys!
- She started rolling from side to side at 10 weeks then
rolled from her tummy to her back at 10.5 weeks!! What a little over achiever!
- Her “giggles” are beginning to become more apparent...they
are little squeals now!
- She’s already starting at a young age but she is yelling at
me! She is more than comfortable with being very vocal! We love it.
- I started speaking Lao to her in the morning in a very
ambitious attempt to make her bilingual and she smiles every time. Maybe she
knows my Lao is THAT bad haha
- We experienced the beautiful city of Chicago for the first
time as a family....and we realized VERY quickly (with traffic especially) why
we won’t be going there again any time soon! Haha But it was fun nonetheless!
- The separation anxiety has officially set in! She knows
who she knows and definitely knows whom she doesn’t! As long as she sees our
face, she usually is ok but sometimes that’s not enough!
- She is getting over her 2nd time being sick. It
makes us sad seeing her unhappy but she’s still nursing very often and clingy
so we are taking advantage of it.
My siblings under one roof with our families on Christmas Day! :)
We celebrated Estella’s first Christmas surrounded by family
at our house, which is exactly how we pictured it.
My brother Toby came to spend Christmas with us from California! This is the first time they met!!
We’ve been blessed with a plethora of clothes and books
however we didn’t have really any toys for her other than her play mat. So,
thank you to everyone who has contributed to her growing amount of toys to help
her development! It is so crazy though to think that she will eventually grow
out of the toys too...growing out of her clothes have already have been hard on
me!
Gma Dorough & Uncle Evan came to visit Estella for Christmas too!
Ryan and I definitely have our own wants, dreams, and needs
for Estella which include many things a lot of people don’t agree with, don’t
understand, or don’t know which we completely understand. However, what IRKS me
is when that aspect is not respected. So now I am in the same shoes as the
people I use to judge and I get it...I totally get it.

Estella with her Uncle Evan:)
Even small things we do like restricting her “media” time as
much as we can or trying to maintain a routine at bedtime to help her sleep and
soothe her are huge for us....we have learned very quickly WHY parents talk
about all the little things because really..those are the BIGGEST things.
So moms and dads everywhere, I am apologizing for any judgment
I’ve placed. Oh boy how I’ve changed and how much more I understand. Ryan and I
have a new motto that we adopted when Estella was 2 weeks old- No judgment on
any other parent as long as you are loving your baby, you are a good parent. Do
what you do and we will do what we want to do! Simple as that. I do love that I
have a good group of mom friends that share the same views as me...getting
support in that way is really invaluable. That’s the perk I get for being an
ND!

I still get the look from some people when they realize that
I am a stay at home mom with two doctorates. I put in a good number of hours
working from home but I’m not practicing or even consulting with patients. So
the question always gets asked is, “Well when do you plan to go into practice?”
I am a planner. Everyone that knows me, knows that. But everyone that knows what it is like to be a parent knows that you always have to be ready for the
inevitable. So the most appropriate answer is “When we’re ready...”
And I am perfectly happy with that.
This will be my last post of the year! So thank you for all the support thus far. I hope to continue to blog about this life journey that we are on! Stay tuned for a completely updated blog! Time for some change!
We hope you enjoyed a Christmas filled with lots of love and surrounded by family! Not only did we celebrate the season of giving but the birthday of Jesus Christ from whom ALL blessings flow! God Bless you all for the new year to come!
2012 (as you can tell) has been the BEST year of our lives together as husband and wife...and now as a mother and father to our beautiful daughter. We are confident 2013 will only be better and pray that yours will be just as beautiful!
Love always- Miravone, Ryan, and baby Estella
